Metate Cabo was a standout experience. The service was excellent — attentive without being overbearing, and the team clearly takes pride in what they do. From the moment we arrived, everything ran smoothly and felt well looked after. The atmosphere strikes a great balance: relaxed but refined, with thoughtful design and an open layout that makes the most of the Cabo setting. It’s the kind of place that feels just right whether you’re there for a casual dinner or a special evening out. The food was truly impressive. Every dish was beautifully presented and full of flavour — fresh ingredients, well-executed techniques, and a menu that shows creativity without losing touch with tradition. Highlights were the shrimp juan and the picanha, both of which I’d happily order again. Metate has clearly earned its reputation. Great service, great food, and a space that feels inviting. Highly recommended if you're in Cabo looking for something a cut above the usual.

Best, margaritas, ever. Food, service and ambience was amazing. The food is expertly prepared and very reasonably priced. The crab tacos, pork shank and the picanta steak were out favourites. Their were 4 of us and each couples bill came to 280 CAD each but realized we ordered 260 worth margaritas so it was very reasonably priced.

We stopped after dinner to get drinks and I say I regret we didn’t eat here, the food looked amazing! The decor and ambiance are Boho Chic, the place is outdoors and everywhere you look makes for a great photo opportunity. We sat at the bar and the bartenders were courteous and very attentive. I’m sure we will go back and eat there! If you enjoy a fun yet stylish experience you’ll want to come here!

absolutely lovely place to eat. food was traditional, mole was on the menu, service was warm and authentic, PLUS there's a restaurant dog named Dice (all other restaurants take notes PLEASE). incredibly nice atmosphere with lots of added hospitality touches to make it special. super fairly priced... especially compared to a lot of the waterfront tourist trap restaurants in Cabo that charge 2000 pesos for a terrible & unseasoned entree.

Roberto Ramos is a brilliant chef and a very fun person! I did the Metate cooking class, highly recommend. It is a great experience, and Roberto is it very knowledgeable about the restaurant, the culinary plants surrounding the property, and basically anything you wanted to know about cooking Mexican food!

Good food. Service was slow but the servers were friendly. Be autiful ambiance. Very limited vegetarian options though. Have gluten free options. The food is good but seems over hyped for being listed as the number 1 restaurant on TripAdvisor. We definitely had better food at other places in cabo. Limited parking on the street outside.
